The city hosts the Hydrogen Lab Bremerhaven, a large-scale research and testing facility for sector coupling, wind-to-hydrogen systems, and energy storage. Additionally, the Sea State Simulator provides a unique platform for testing hydrogen-powered maritime propulsion systems under realistic sea conditions.
